Fed: Govt MPs warn of voter concern on BAS paperwork
CANBERRA, Jan 12 AAP - Federal government MPs were breaking ranks over the impact on
small business of new tax arrangements, but their complaints were falling on deaf ears,
the federal Opposition said today.
Two Coalition backbenchers warned the government must simplify the Business Activity
Statement (BAS) or face growing voter backlash in an election year.
Council of Small Business Organisation spokesman Rob Bastian said onerous loads of
BAS paperwork would be a major issue for small business in the election.
